Cognitive - Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT can be useful for a range of mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression and PTSD. CBT for trauma involves exposure therapy, which involves gradually confronting and processing memories of the traumatic event. CBT for anxiety typically involves identifying and challenging irrational thoughts, learning relaxation techniques, and gradually confronting feared situations. In CBT for depression, the therapist works with the client to identify and challenge these negative thoughts and beliefs, and replace them with more positive, realistic ones.
